It is a known fact that foreign investors must pay a minimum commission of 20% to the BN leaders who will be more obliged to say ‘yes’. This illegal kickbacks is the prerequisite for outsiders to get the green light from BN regardless whether the projects are environmentally perilous or not. The welfare of the people was and will never be a priority in the eyes of those corrupt politicians who care only for their pockets. Lynas is the prime example where green light was given without taking into account the health of the citizens. If Najib is so confident that the project is safe, amid all the controversies, then in all fairness, he should build the refinery in his backyard and bury the waste there too. Otherwise, he is a hypocrite for being callous to the people’s feelings.
