POVERTY FIGURED DON’T MAKE SENSE!

Over the 35 years of Taib’s reign thousands upon thousands of native people have been tossed out of their ancestral land and have nothing to rely on for a living.. last count was over 20,000 from Bakun. Then our forgotten citizens the majority of 10,000 Penans have been driven out of their forest face starvation and extinction.
So the gomen figures quoted by Baru are entirely unrealistic!
How did they measure what is “poor” or 2992 “hard-core poor” – zero income?
But this is not true. The Penans and thousands of other natives have zero income. The figure has been deliberately made small to make the gomen look good!
The real poverty is not measured by dollars but by how much the natives have been deprived of their land and means of survival. At the last count most of Sarawak timber land have been stolen by Taib, family, cronies and the minority tycoons.
A comment posted in the HU Christmas message estimated that $40 Billion have not been taxed in the last 35 years.
So there are a few billionaires around who did not pay this tax. They should be brought to book and make to pay the full penalty under the law.
But this is only a new year wish!
