This quote from J. D. Lovrenciear is a bit ironic. WHY did he say the picture of people stepping over Najib’s picture was “despicable”?
“Never in the history and living memory can we recall an act so despicable as this where protestors took turns to step on the poster of Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak the prime minister of Malaysia.
The caption on the poster read “Najib do you really care?”
NO, it is not “despicable”. Does the writer love Najib so much to defend his SOILED image.
Why did he not picked on the UMNO directed police violence against the people???
Or talked about the surprising unity of protesters of all races against Najib’s UMNO BN?
Actually it should be re-phrased- “Protesters of all races stepping over picture of a DESPICABLE UMNO TYRANT”
The writer must have slept 100 years and just found out revolutionary changes can be expressed in a peaceful but strong manner by people stepping over Najib’s picture (some may prefer to piss & defaecate on it!).
At least it is better than being shot at by the army and police, breaking windows and burning private property as is happening in Egypt, Bahrain Libya and Syria.
The Bersih3 crowd have shown people of all races behaving in the more organised and exemplary restrained manner. Even stepping over Najib’s picture is a peaceful act but the impression created is strong- reject Najib’s UMNO BN!
