As a geo-science technician in the oil industry, I predicted such a law about 18 mths ago after being truly shocked by the outrageous use of repeated DISinformation put out by a certain round faced female PKR member of the Malaysian Parliament in respect of an Australian Chemical processing plant (NOT an atomic reactor!!!) at the Gebeng Industrial Estate. Her energetic fear mongering to steal people’s votes was and still is (Youtube) truly sickening to anyone schooled in Chemistry and Atomic Science 101. By using ersatz science, laughable exaggeration, absolutism, capped by blatant lies, she has not only smeared what has just been hailed by a large and diverse collection of highly qualified GLOBAL experts as ‘the cleanest and best rare earth plant in the world’ but at the same time she has caused SO MUCH unnecessary mental stress and strain to so many of the people with her ‘Save Malaysia Stop Lynas’ fear campaign. All this from a “psychologist” whose mantra to such results is “too bad, too bad”

After a deep investigation of this plants design and waste profile, every attempt I made on various blogs to shed light on the environmental ‘zero harm’ truth was met with abuse and juvenile namecalling liberally sprinkled with the “f” bomb and “cybertrooper” ‘UMNO goon’ etc etc – all the other abusive terms so prevalent on screwball blogs talking about mutants glowing in the dark and unfounded (fear-induced) comparisons to Chernobyl, Fukishima and even Bhopal!! All this cynical politically motivated DISinformation was repeated endlessly by the puppet masters to brain-wash the trusting innocents where their evil found a foothold as belief. I said on different blogs back then and I’ll say it now..”nothing will ensure the advent of restrictions on your internet freedom as much as your widespread ABUSE of it and consequent damage to the Malaysian people and their economy!

That female PKR YB and her friends at DAP – including LGE – did a lot more damage to the rakyat AND Malaysia’s International reputation as a worthy investment destination than you could possibly imagine. They clearly are among those who can rightfully be held responsible for the advent of this internet law.
Pity such widespread and eager consumption of DISinformation as truth by Malaysia’s online netizens has now necessitated a legislated attempt at accountability.
