While the intention behind those reports is laudable, maybe even noble, it is the truth that there is nothing that can be done to change those provisions of “discrimination” in the Federal Constitution. The quick-to-condemn Ibrahim Ali is just a tip of the ice-berg (although as a matter of fact real ice-berg is melting fast). The complete almost single-race control of the civil service, foreign service, GLC companies, Petronas and its associated subsidiaries, SEDC-funded organisations, education systems, finance and investments, you name it they are in control, will never allow any change to their comfortable space, jobs, livings, and control over those very things that make their lives good or better than others. It must be remembered that the system of Rulers and Islam are another 2 separate but intertwined entities that by them a government is instituted within a government. That is one far superior than Parliament; and benefitting a single race. Look at what recently came out from Pahang Royal Household against Nurul Anwar.
On the whole I don’t think an enthusiasm as exudes of Fernandez and Tanganika can go very far unless some changes will come after GE13. Although I am also pessimitic regarding any changes just yet by GE13.
