STORY OF THE BUZZARD, BAT & BUMBLE BEE

HOW TO GET OUT OF OUR PREDICAMENT- THE “MALAYSIA BOTTLE” SYNDROME?

“THE BUZZARD:

If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will
be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a Run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, It will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.

THE BAT:

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

THE BUMBLEBEE:

A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom.. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself..

PEOPLE:

In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up! That’s the Answer, the escape route and the solution to any problem! Just look up.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up!”

Brothers & sisters for 48 years we have been fruitlessly chasing or waiting for the fulfillment of promises of “progress and development” made by the old and new colonial masters to entice us into “Malaysia”.

Instead we hear endless complains of suffering as in the “disappearing Jabu” article. Many of the complains arise from as a consequence of being controlled and raped and robbed of everything by a gang of robbers in what is really re-colonization in “Malaysia”.

We are like the above buzzard, bat and bumblebee rolled in. They all can get out if they knew what to do!

Many of us are mentally imprisoned in a metaphorical bottle called “Malaysia” and cannot see our way out. This is our “in the Malaysia bottle” syndrome or dilemma!

In fact the solution itself is simple but the doing of it is very hard.

We are bound to Malaya by pieces of paper called the “Malaysia Agreement” and the “Constitution” and the Malayan Army occupies our country. In other words if they did not have their army on Sarawak territory we can just say “goodbye” to them.

It is because they have a huge army in our country which is the difficult part. In the 1960s the Malayan army was used as a backup to the British army which suppressed the Brunei Uprising and later fought the guerrilla freedom fighter in Sarawak The British army stayed on till 1966 (but continued to provide backup to the Malayan army) after they had forced Sabah and Sarawak into Malaysia (1963) and pacified and secured the country for UMNO. It was then that the Malayan army assumed the role as the new occupation army.

The solutions are well tried around the world. The latest success story was South Sudan which militarily fought the Sudanese colonization for some 50 years and then they won the referendum for independence. Similarly East Timor fought for its independence and won the independence referendum.

To shortcut the fighting and avoid bloodshed we can demand for an independence referendum .

But even this we will not get from Malaya. This is reflected in Pakatan’s Buku Jingga. They declare they want to “integrate” us – not to let us “separate” from them. So even Pakatan will use force i.e. the Malayan Army to make sure we cannot “get out” if we tried.

Forget about the 18 points since they might as well never have existed and don’t waste time attempting to get “autonomy”.

You may get autonomy on paper but the Malayan colonial rulers will happily continue their cheating and plundering ways as usual. Pakatan is willing to return 20% oil royalty – why not 100% since it belongs to us and compensate us for the 48 years they stole our oil? UMNO will not even talk about increasing the royalty!

The real solution is for us just tear up the Malaysia Agreement to get Sarawak out of Malaysia like Singapore.

Brunei did not even bother to “join” and they made the right decision. They rule themselves and do we hear them complaining?

The Sabah people are now working for “self-rule” more actively than our opposition party politicians- those in Malayan DAP PAS and PKR parties.

Sabahans are relying on their own effort to change their situation…. It would be predictable that they will get no more than a small consolation even if they did succeed in getting “autonomy”. In the end they will get cheated again and they will rise up for real independence….

In Sarawak the oppressed people mainly Dayaks are our hope for change. There is hope if they wake up to the “Malaysia bottle syndrome” and smash their way out by smashing the idea of Malaysia forever. How strongly can you put this feeling?

So Sarawakians don’t let ourselves be imprisoned by an idea (“Malaysia” ) which is proven to be clearly 100% against our interest and well being.
