Any right thinking Malaysian and particularly those of us in Sarawak must nauseate at hearing the repugnant down-right devilish statement made by Reezal in UMNO Assembly recently: he claimed that UMNO comes from God to protect and defend the “Malay Race” ruling and as rulers of the common “infidels”. And I suppose I should couldn’t careless about such idiotic good-for-nothing nonsensical remarks for the reason that UMNO is only in Malaya, thank you God for that, and it has no presence in Sarawak unlike in Sabah. However the fact that Sarawak after 1963 is part of, when our forefathers had thought it fit to form a merger of Nations of Sarawak, Sabah, and Singapore to form, a Federation of Malaysia, and the fact that our oil and gas, since 1975 when Tun Abdul Razak had vested powers upon Petronas, have financed and developed Malaya by revenues, on the main, from these two resources from the State of Sabah and Sarawak, among other thing been used to making many new Malay elites which are on the main found in UMNO, and these our resources have been financing the millions of Malays studying abroad on scholarship and upon their return to “Tanah Melayu” been given high paying jobs in the civil service, foreign service, GLCs, statutory bodies, banking and financial institutions, not to forget the billions dollars worth of contract that they ali-baba’ed to benefits their cronies, and by means of those moneys Malayan Road Networks are beautifully laid to international standard, and least of all making us in Sarawak having to beg PUTRAJAYA for funds and our roads Kuching/Sibu/Bintulu/Miri and to Miri and Belaga the least of the pride of the Nation, I would have to say we should be very wary of these UMNO people. In fact we should now, after been alerted to our miserable situation brought about by our being in Malaysia and the fact that we have been relegated to a “colony” status by Malaya, be very wary of any political party from Malaya including those from the oppositions. Realize this: Malaya has 156 MP seats while Sabah and Sarawak are given 56 seats. Hence we are powerless, even though we formed Malaysia as equal partner in 1963; at least that’s how we were told. Tengku ejected Singapore in 1965 because Lee Kuan Yew was too good in debate and outclassed all the Malayan politicians then, even now: look at the success of Singapore. It has become the pride of the orient despite its complete lack of resources compared to what we have got within our shores.
I think in the coming GE13 lets vote local opposition parties for once and to begin the process of realization of our precarious positions in Malaysia.
