WE DO HAVE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS & WE CAN GET OUT OF MALAYSIA IF UMNO CONTINUES TO ABUSE OUR RIGHTS

Article 161 in Part XIIA ‘Additional Protection for States of Sabah and Sarawak’,” Bian said.

Baru has timely alerted us to our constitutional rights.

No one would seriously dispute the desire for national language. However, for us in Sabah and Sarawak, the loss of our constitutional right to choose our official language or rather to preserve our official language is a term and condition for these former British colonies becoming part of Malaysia.

We are each an equal partner in Malaysia. Sabah and Sarawak if we are to be strictly accurate are independent states within a federation and each has its rights preserved in various international Agreements.

But after 48 years Sabah and Sarawak people have seen how their rights in the 20/18 Points and Malaysia Agreements whittled away or not complied with at all. Our rights have been abused to enable the plunder of our respective countries.

Both the UMNO and local BN governments have participated in the looting of our resources, without fulfilling independence promises of economic development . Many of us have come to see this as Malayan colonization which replaced the promised “Borneonization”. Borneonizartion was essentially to preserve our rights within Malaysia. Instead we have been Malayanized

Things have reached such a state that in Sabah the people have taken to calling Sabah “Negeri di Bawah Penjajahan Malaya or the Land Under Malayan Colonialists” and with good reasons too.

The move to impose the BM on us is the final step for UMNO to tighten its control of Sabah and Sarawak. Language becomes a tool of foreign domination.

There is little doubt in the minds of many Sabah and Sarawak people that we have been and still are being Malayanised.

The people have to decide for themselves whether they want to be taken further step into become a 1/13th part of Malaya or fight for their equal federal right. They also always have the ultimate choice of getting out of this unequal federation.
