INVESTIGATE & CHARGE ALL THE CROOKS- BUT WE SHOULD NOT BE TOO HOPEFUL IT WILL EVER HAPPEN
IF MACC deserves its name – it should have all the facts by now and charge Taib and his entire gang before GE13 to show good faith to the people. May be this is the only away UMNO will win votes in Sarawak!
The question is whether it is expedient for UMNO to do take this move. You can never trust what they say.
UMNO wants Taib to secure seats in GE13 so will not kill off a friendly Taib and make more enemies in Sarawak. It is a different story if Taib turns against them.
We must never forget that Taib is a protégées of UMNO and had been instrumental in enabling UMNO to seize Sarawak oil and gas. after they engineered the “sacking” of CM Stephen Ningkan. Petronas and UMNO members have enriched themselves secretly beyond dreams. There are many UMNO Malay billionaires around because Sarawak oil made them rich. This alone is sufficient to protect Taib from any prosecutions. O course Taib is related to Najib by marriage.
More likely we will never get to see any real justice but it is better we unite and make an effort.
Even if we fail we can hold our heads up high and face the future generation with dignity. We can say we did not lie down and be stepped on.
The alternative is that PR wins majority seats and speeds up the investigations as the new government.
But PR has made any promises to act against corruption. However outside this book it does not appear to have talked about prosecuting the Taib and gang. Baru Bian may have in his capacity as a lawyer.
BTW The “autonomy” carrot held out in their Buku Jingga manifesto is not real “autonomy” – reproduced below

Respecting the position of Sabah and Sarawak as equal partners in the
Malaysian Federation, and honouring previous agreements made, Pakatan
Rakyat pledges to:
Restore autonomy to Sabah and Sarawak in line with and within the
framework of the Federal Constitution and the Federation Agreement.
Raise the royalties paid on petroleum and hydrocarbon resources to
Sabah and Sarawak to 20% from the present 5%.
Set up a Royal Commission to solve the perennial problem of illegal
immigration and citizenship in Sabah.
Help bring the level of infrastructural development in Sabah and Sarawak
up to par with other states of the Federation.
Increase national integration between Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular
Malaysia through a fair power-sharing arrangement that fully upholds
the spirit of the Federation.
If you have read the above closely- what they promise for Sabah and Sarawak is “NATIONAL INTEGRATION” into the Malayan political system…NOT AUTONOMY. PR acknowledges that we were CHEATED and offered some consolation prizes in its manifesto. They know the Sabah/Sarawak people are questioning the value of continuing in Malaysia or get out.
Their agenda is more sinister! They are sealing the con job began in 1963 to lure us into agreeing to “form Malaysia”. This is to counter the general move in Sabah and Sarawak to get out of Malaysia and get real independence.
Further, the promise of 20% of oil revenues is just not good enough. We should get back 100% control of our resources! UMNO and Petronas have already stolen and enrich themselves with untold billions from our oil and gas.
SO can we trust PR??
