Instead of promoting rubber plantation, DCCI should share skills how to get Timber concessions for Dayaks…far more lucrative and easy money than planting rubber lah….

Why keep Timber concessions for Dayak ministers while other Dayak live poor miskin…very unfair lah…

KUCHING: Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) organised a seminar on ‘The Products and Services’ provided by Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda) in Marudi recently.

It was attended by 100 participants mainly Iban landowners from nearby longhouses around Marudi, namely Sg Brit, Sg Selijah, Sg Muam and Sg Babi.

A number of Orang Ulu from Long Bemang, Long Wat Tapoh, Long Tasah, Long Keseh, Sungai Peking and Sg Melikat also attended the seminar.

DCCI executive secretary Terence Temenggong Jayang said the participants showed great interests in planting rubber trees because of the current high price of rubber sheets.

“The many facilities provided by Risda attracted plenty of queries. Many questions on issues relative to the types of rubber clones, management of rubber planting, maintenance and the various types of financial assistance available in Risda were raised,” he said in a press release issued yesterday.

DCCI secretary general Libat Langub officiated at the seminar on behalf of its president Tan Sri Leo Moggie.

Risda’s station manager (Limbang and Bintulu) Baharuddin Amran was the speaker. Also present was DCCI regional coordinator (Miri) Telajan Luyoh.
